Chelsea have opted to send the Super Eagles star and Afcon hero to Liverpool on loan for the duration of the 2013-14 season. The move is a smart one for everyone involved.

The move is not a permanent one, and a year-long loan deal gives the young Nigerian the opportunity to enjoy a year of Premier League action in the knowledge that his bridges are not burned at Chelsea.

Indeed, some of Mourinho’s assembly of rich attacking and creative talents are likely to fall by the wayside over the coming 12 months.

Mata, for example, is still to receive the glowing commendation of his new boss, Eto’o and Frank Lampard, for all their prestige and prodigious abilities, are heading towards their career finales, while Demba Ba and Fernando Torres are unlikely to enjoy long and prosperous futures at Stamford Bridge.

There is no reason why Moses cannot impress at Liverpool, and thrive enough to earn himself an extended existence in West London.

I, for one, anticipate a big year ahead for the 22-year-old winger.

The Gunners smashed their transfer record with the €47 million signing from Real Madrid, and his new team-mate believes it is a statement of intent to their top-flight rivals

Arsenal attacker Theo Walcott believes the signing of Mesut Ozil proves the club are serious Premier League contenders this season.

The Germany playmaker completed a €47 million move from Real Madrid on deadline day, becoming Arsenal's fourth signing of the window following Yaya Sanogo, Mathieu Flamini and Emiliano Viviano.
Arsenal lost their opening game of the season at home to Aston Villa, but have since reached the Champions League group stage and beat rivals Tottenham 1-0 on Sunday, and Walcott feels the addition of Ozil will only improve the team further.

"It definitely shows a statement that we are ready to step up," Walcott told reporters.
"We had a disappointing start to the season, but we have bounced back and it is looking fantastic now."With the likes of Ozil joining the club, it is only going to boost everyone."Ozil, who scored nine and assisted 16 goals last season, is in line to make his Arsenal debut when they travel to Sunderland on September 14.

The Belgian completed a protracted €32.5 million move on deadline day, and now has his sights set on making his mark at a club he has always wanted to represent

United the biggest club in the world - Fellaini

Marouane Fellaini says his move to Manchester United has enabled him to realise his childhood dream of joining "the biggest club in the world".

The Belgium international completed a €32.5 million move to Old Trafford on deadline day, after having seen a number of bids for his services rejected by Everton.

However, while the midfielder admitted the protracted nature of the move was tortuous, the chance to play for the Premier League champions made the struggle more than worth it.

"I’m very, very happy," Fellaini told the club's official website. "It’s a big moment for me.

"I waited for a long time, I’ve worked hard for this and I’m very happy to join this big club, this great club. I hope to do everything for this club.

"It’s the biggest club in the world, so of course I wanted to join this club. I tried everything to join the club.

"It’s been difficult, a very long day. I waited to the end… I know the situation, but this day has been very long.

"When I was young it was a dream to play for Manchester United. Now I’m here so I’ll try to give my best to the club. I want to win trophies. That’s the most important thing."

Fellaini, who is currently on international duty, joined Everton from Standard Liege in 2008.
